Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
Last updated: 17 August 2026
1. Introduction
This policy explains what personal data NaijaLaborMarket collects, why, and what rights you have. We aim to handle your data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and other applicable laws.
2. Information we collect
- Account details — your name, phone number and/or email address, and your state and local government area (LGA).
- Contractor information — for service providers: your business name, bio, services, service areas, years of experience, and the work photos you upload.
- Requests and messages — the service requests you make and the chat messages and attachments you exchange with other users.
- Reviews — ratings and comments you write about contractors.
- Technical data — basic information your device sends when you use the site, used to keep the service running and secure.
3. How we use your information
- To create your account and verify it with a one-time code.
- To match clients with relevant contractors and power search.
- To let you and other users communicate and arrange work.
- To display contractor profiles, portfolios, and reviews.
- To keep the Platform safe, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
4. What others can see
Some information is public by design. An approved contractor’s business name, location, services, portfolio photos, and reviews are visible to anyone. When you start a request, the client and contractor in that conversation can see each other’s name and exchange messages. Your phone number is only shared where you choose to display it or contact someone directly. Clients who leave reviews are shown by name.
5. Service providers we use
We rely on trusted providers to run NaijaLaborMarket, and they process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (our hosting infrastructure).
- Termii — delivery of one-time codes by SMS.
- Resend — delivery of one-time codes and notifications by email.
- Vercel — hosting and delivery of the website.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your data.
To exercise any of these, email info@naijalabormarket.com.
8. Children
NaijaLaborMarket is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data — see our Security page for details.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time and will revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
